Behind the Scenes: A Marie Antoinette-Inspired Boudoir Session
Indulge in Opulence:
A Marie Antoinette-Inspired Boudoir Session
This entire session was a love letter to Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette — opulent, over-the-top, and just a little bit punk.
I handcrafted everything myself with the help pf my BFF and mother in law: the desserts were sculpted out of drywall mud and insulation foam (yum), then painted and dusted until they looked good enough to eat. I spray painted anything that got in my way gold, and the wig was built from scratch with butterfly accents and held together with more hairspray than I want to admit.
I wanted this to feel rich and indulgent — but with a gritty, modern edge.
Makeup was done by the insanely talented Rose Nygaard, who brought the whole vision to life with gold, editorial glam. Ashley Weber, (Marie) completely embodied the vision with her confidence, playfulness, and grace. She brought the character to life in a way that was even better than I imagined. This shoot was a dream brought to life.
